Journeys

The joy of the journey lies
largely in the travel
For the best of journeys
have no end

The fulfillment through passage
is not where you go but how
And you and I have traveled far and
we have experienced much

We accept the destination must
for always remain illusory
That the lasting worth lies
in the quality of the voyage

We have walked long alone and not
knowing alone is sometimes best
For value is not merely in companionship
but in the quality of the friend

And then as we sought the future
upon our separate paths
We received the incredible gift
of true and total love

Now I am eager to renew the journey
for your love is a gift
I will never tire of opening nor
will I ever cease reciprocating

The road lies before us...
let us explore it with the passion
And laughter and love and unprecedented
partnership that is ours alone

Take my hand, my friend...
and never let go.
